Osun United’s young striker, Dayo Agbolade, may not have found the back of the net in the first two matches of the 2023/2024 Nigerian National League (NNL) season, but he remains unwaveringly confident that the goals will come. In an exclusive interview with Futball Naija, the 20-year-old expressed his faith in divine timing and his determination to convert the chances he gets on the field.
Despite the absence of goals in the early matches, Agbolade have continued to show his skill and tenacity, and this was evident in the encounter between Osun United against Warri Wolves FC at the Osogbo Township Stadium. Constantly posing a threat to the opposition’s defenders, he came agonizingly close on multiple occasions in a game that unfolded at an intense pace.
Reflecting on the match, Agbolade commented, “It was a fine game against Warri Wolves. Only God decides the game. I try to play well for the team and play well every game. Sometimes the ball does not go in as it did today off the post and the few chances I had. It is part of the game; I just need to keep working hard, keep my head down, and I am sure the goals will come.”

Remaining optimistic about Osun United’s promotion ambitions in the NNL, Agbolade emphasized the team’s potential to maintain a winning streak after defeating Tradesafe FC of Lagos and Warri Wolves FC in Matchday 1 and Matchday 2, respectively.
