The wait is over! After hundreds of votes cast, ASE Ridyem FC is thrilled to announce Adejare Waliu as their Player of the Season for the 2024 New Year Mega Lottery Nationwide League One (NLO) campaign!
Waliu received a resounding 34.46% of the votes, edging out teammate Razaq Ajiboye (Rosko) who secured 30.29%. This is a testament to Waliu’s exceptional defensive performances throughout the season.
Playing as a center-back, Waliu provided a strong presence in the heart of ASE Ridyem’s defense. He dominated both aerial challenges and ground duels, ensuring the backline remained resolute.

The race for Player of the Season was fierce. Fellow defender Razaq Ajiboye and right-back Adeyemi Quadri impressed with their own contributions. At just 14 years old, goalkeeper Ridwan Kazeem deserves a special mention for his impressive performance, securing two clean sheets in four appearances and saving two penalties. Defensive midfielder Akorede also played a vital role in the team’s midfield success.
Formed in early 2023, ASE Ridyem FC has had a remarkable journey. Finishing joint-third in their debut NLO season is a commendable feat, especially considering they were only a point behind second place and eight points behind champions Igbajo United. The team secured three wins, four draws, and just two losses, showcasing their potential for future success.
