Muhydeen Odeyemi, Chairman of Hammola Football Club, Ido-Osun, has called on the government to immortalize the late Alayemore of Ido-Osun, Oba Adeen Aderemi Adedapo, describing his passing as a great loss to humanity and the political sphere in the country. Oba Adedapo passed away on Friday, May 17, 2024, at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex, Ile-Ife, and was buried on Saturday, May 25, 2024.
Speaking to Futball Naija ahead of the July 6th burial ceremony, Mr. Odeyemi described Oba Adeen Aderemi Adedapo as an outspoken and dedicated monarch. The Alayemore’s primary focus was the progress and well-being of his subjects and the Ido-Osun community. His exceptional professional background in law and architecture significantly contributed to his efforts to advance the interests of his people.
Odeyemi highlighted the immense void left by the monarch’s passing, emphasizing his significant roles in the state and the nation. The loss of such an energetic and vibrant leader, he noted, would not be forgotten quickly especially by the people of Ido-Osun.
“You have always been an essential part of Ido-Osun’s development. Now you are gone, and I pray for your departed soul. You have accomplished many good things in life,” Odeyemi stated. “You worked hard and always followed the path of honesty. Your compassion and your stance on vital humanitarian issues were unparalleled.”
Odeyemi also prayed for God to grant the family, the people of Ido-Osun, and the Osun State government the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. He urged the state government to immortalize Oba Adedapo, noting that his contributions would be greatly missed across all facets of life.
Oba Adedapo, a close ally of the immediate past Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuade, served as the Secretary General of the Council of Yoruba Obas during his lifetime.
