The Solid Miners were held to a 1-1 draw by Atlantic Integral FC of Suleja, Niger State, in their second Group ‘A’ match at the ongoing 3rd edition of the Abuja Unity Pre-season Tournament.
In the wednesday’s morning match decided at the Area 3 Football Field, Abuja, Nasarawa United took the lead, second minute into the first-half, through Anas Yusuf and held on to the lead until the interval.
But the Suleja-based side bounced back from the early shocker to draw parity in the 54th minute after Mohammed Cheche’s long range strike caught goalkeeper, Jerry Isaac napping.
Further efforts by both sides to alter the scoreline proved fruitless with the points shared equally at regulation time.
The Solid Miners now have four points from two games, maintaining the lead position in their group.
On Thursday, 15th August, the NPFL returnees will file out against Like Minds FC in their third game of the competition by 9 o’clock in the morning at the same venue before wrapping up the group’s activities with a cracker against CKD FC on Friday, 16th August, 2024, by 11am.
Only two teams will progress to the last eight of the competition whose final is scheduled for Sunday, 18th August, 2024.
