Osun United Football Club once again secured a vital away point following a high tempo encounter with the host, Inter Lagos FC, that ended in a stalemate at Mobolaji Johnson Arena Lagos, in one of match-day 11 encounter.

As the first stanza draw curtains, the Seye Ajayi tutored side stormed Mobolaji Johnson Arena for the third time this season fresh from a victory against FC One Rocket last weekend.

Omoluabi Giants were efficient enough throughout the first stanza and could have gone ahead ten minutes from the break as Emmanuel Essien sent a long one, having studied James Faith who’s in goal for the host but the keeper gathered it calmly as deadlock remained intact at the break.

‘Believe and Achieve’ side didn’t sit back after resumption but surges forward intermittently imposing their presence at the same time curtailing dangerous move from the host.

Nine minutes after restart, the host thought they were in front but Francis Odudu and Afolabi Olatubosun combined to clear their line with the latter suffering bumps in the process.

The game witnessed series of drama at the touch lines following disruptions from some frustrated home fans who gained unauthorized access to technical area, this resulted in a red card for Osun United winger, Yemi Jacob. However, the security agents at the arena were handy enough to calm the situations.

In the closing stages, United had to rue the best chance of the day as substitute Kelvin Chika finds himself in a vintage position with the keeper to beat but awkwardly cued his final delivery as Osogbo landlord endure 9 minutes of additional time as the game ended goalless.

In his post match reaction, Osun United Head Coach Seye Ajayi said; “My boys played to instructions and we stick to our plan throughout the game.”

He added, “the facility is top notch. They tried to frustrate us with everything including the red card but we survived the gimmicks.”

Going forward, he said, “we are gunning for strikers who will complement our efforts. It is obvious, we will rejig the squad before the second round. We will come out smoking again, I say kudos to my guys,” he said

As Nigeria National League proceeds on mid season break, the Omoluabi Giants will use the window to fortify the team and wait for Inter Lagos after resumption.

So far, Osun United have been able to secure four points away and eleven points at home making fifteen (15) points altogether in the first round.
