The 22nd edition of the National Sports Festival, tagged Gateway Games Ogun 2024, is set to take center stage across multiple venues in Ogun State from May 16 to May 29, 2025, with the Opening Ceremony scheduled for Saturday, May 18 at the MKO Abiola Sports Complex, Abeokuta.
Organized under the auspices of the Federal Ministry of Sports and Youth Development in collaboration with the Ogun State Government, the festival will host thousands of athletes from across Nigeria competing in over 30 sports across ten venues.
Team arrivals are slated for May 16–17, while departures are scheduled between May 30 and June 1. The Closing Ceremony will take place on May 29, marking the end of nearly two weeks of elite competition.

MKO Abiola Sports Complex, Abeokuta: Athletics, Para Athletics, Swimming, Handball (Female), Cricket, and others.
Alake Sports Centre, Abeokuta: Basketball (Male), Gymnastics, Squash, Table Tennis, Volleyball, and Deaf Sports events.
Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne: Football, Hockey, Chess, Scrabble, Wheelchair Basketball, and Female Basketball.
Baptist High School, Abeokuta: Boxing and Kickboxing.
Civic Center, Obafemi Awolowo Square, Ikenne: Karate, Kungfu, and Wrestling.
NYSC Orientation Camp, Sagamu: Weightlifting, Para Powerlifting, and Dambe.
Babcock University, Sagamu: Football, Dart, Judo, and Taekwondo.
Ijebu Ode Stadium: Hockey.
Abeokuta Golf Club: Golf.
Roads across Ogun State: Cycling.
The festival promises a vibrant showcase of Nigerian sporting talent and cultural unity. The Gateway Games will not only celebrate athletic excellence but also reinforce Ogun State’s capacity to host large-scale national events.
