Held on Wednesday, May 14, the Sports Fiesta offered a vibrant platform for students to showcase their athletic talents, teamwork, and sportsmanship before an enthusiastic audience of parents, staff, and invited guests.

Speaking at the event, the Proprietress, Professor Adelowo Adejumoke, described the occasion not just as a competition, but as “a celebration of courage, talent, and the boundless possibilities that lie in the world of sports.” She urged the young athletes to be bold and resilient, stressing that while education is important, excellence in other fields — including sports — also opens doors to success.

The event began with a colourful parade by the four competing houses: Oyinlola Aderibigbe House (Green), Ajiroba Oni House (Yellow), Dele Ibironke House (Blue), and Adedayo D One House (Purple). Students transitioned from a slow march to a quick march, demonstrating discipline and synchronization that drew loud cheers from the audience.

Spectacular displays followed the parade, with each house delivering creative performances that were met with resounding applause. The excitement peaked during the series of track events, including the 25, 50, 75, 100, and 200-meter races. The pupils captivated the crowd with their energy and competitive spirit.

Other fun-filled activities included the egg race, treasure hunt, “fill in the basket,” and “fill in the bottle” contests. An invitational relay also featured participating schools, further enhancing the day’s competitive spirit.

At the end of the keenly contested events, Adedayo D One House (Purple) emerged victorious, claiming first place. Ajiroba Oni House (Yellow) finished second, followed by Dele Ibironke House (Blue) in third, while Oyinlola Aderibigbe House (Green) came fourth.

The victory sparked jubilant celebrations among students and supporters of Purple House, capping off what was a successful and memorable day for all.

Lily of the Valley Schools has once again reinforced its position as a pacesetter in combining academic excellence with extracurricular development.
