The latest FIFA Men’s World Rankings are out, and Africa’s football landscape has seen some significant shifts! The recently concluded AFCON tournament has clearly left its mark, with several teams moving up the ranks thanks to their impressive performances.

Côte d’Ivoire, who lifted the AFCON trophy on home soil, unsurprisingly enjoy the biggest rise, jumping a whopping 10 places to 39th globally and claiming 5th spot in Africa. It’s a well-deserved reward for their exciting and successful campaign.

Nigeria, despite their runner-up finish, can also celebrate. They’ve soared 14 spots in the global ranking, landing at a strong 28th position, and are now the third-best team in Africa. Impressive stuff!

Senegal (up 3 spots to 17th globally), Mali (up 4 spots to 47th), and South Africa (up 8 spots to 58th) are other African teams enjoying upward mobility.
