3SC 2-0 Nasarawa United: Oluyole Warriors Extend Winning Streak, Maintain Clean Sheet

Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan continued their impressive run in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) with a 2-0 victory over Nasarawa United at the Lekan Salami Stadium on Wednesday. The win marks their sixth consecutive triumph without conceding a goal.

Goals from Tijani Kabir and debutant Sodiq Ibrahim sealed the win for the Oluyole Warriors, while Nasarawa United struggled to find their way past a resilient 3SC defense.

The match started with Shooting Stars dominating possession, and their persistence paid off in the 14th minute when Tijani Kabir capitalized on Ikouwem Utin’s cross to fire past Nasarawa’s goalkeeper, Detan Ogundare. The visitors responded with a spirited fightback, but 3SC’s defense, marshaled by goalkeeper Mustapha Lawal, held firm.

The second half saw Nasarawa United pushing for an equalizer, with Anas Yusuf and Qamar Adegoke coming close, but their efforts were in vain. In the 66th minute, Yusuf thought he had drawn his side level, only for his goal to be disallowed due to an infringement on Mustapha Lawal.

Shooting Stars sealed the victory in the 83rd minute when new signing Sodiq Ibrahim, coming off the bench, scored on his debut with an assist from fellow substitute Ekeson Okorie. The former Sunshine Stars striker, nicknamed Obege, nearly added a third but was denied in the closing minutes.

With this result, 3SC now sit comfortably on 36 points and will travel to Jos for a tough matchday 22 fixture against Plateau United. Meanwhile, Nasarawa United will look to bounce back when they host Niger Tornadoes in a North Central derby at the Lafia City Stadium on Sunday.
