The Nigerian Ex-International and Professional Women Footballers Association (NEIPWFA) has expressed immense joy over the appointment of its Vice President, Ayisat Yusuf, as a member of the Working Committee of the African Women in Sports Initiative (AWISI).
In a statement, Dr. Mariam Mell Osiime, President of AWISI, congratulated Yusuf, describing the appointment as a well-deserved achievement. She emphasized the significant value Ayisat’s expertise and passion will bring to the committee.

Ayisat Yusuf has been a beacon of excellence in women’s football, making remarkable contributions both on and off the pitch. Based in Finland but deeply connected to her roots in Nigeria, she has consistently championed initiatives to develop the sport. She is the convener of the SheFootball Conference and recently launched the Ayisat Yusuf Football Academy in Lagos, Nigeria.
As a former Super Falcons player, Ayisat represented Nigeria in the Women’s African Cup of Nations and the Olympics, leaving an indelible mark on the sport. Her appointment to the AWISI Working Committee underscores her commitment to advancing women’s sports across Africa.
