Alayemore Coronation Artisans Football Competition Reaches Semi-Final Stage

The Alayemore Coronation Artisans Football Competition has reached its semi-final stage, adding excitement and energy to the series of pre-coronation activities in honor of the incoming monarch, HRM Ọba Oyetunde Ishola Jokotola II, Ilufemiloye I.

The tournament, which kicked off on May 3 at Ido-Osun High School, has been a major highlight in the buildup to the coronation ceremony scheduled for May 22 to May 25, 2025. Designed to foster unity and community pride, the competition has brought together local artisan groups in a spirited display of sportsmanship and camaraderie.

In the first semi-final match, the Tailor Association will face the Plank Sellers Association, while the second semi-final will see the Welder Association take on the Barbers Association. Both matches are scheduled for Saturday, May 17, 2025, and will determine the finalists vying for the coveted trophy.

The grand finale is set for Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Ido-Osun High School. The final match will take place just hours before the official commencement of the coronation festivities, providing a thrilling prelude to the historic event.

The final is expected to draw a large crowd, including the Kabiesi himself, the chiefs, the Mogajis, the Ilumolebis and the coronation planning committees led by Hon. Bamidele Salam (Rep.Ede federal constituency) , Hon Rotimi Ogunrinade (Representing Egbedore State Constituency) and Chairman tournament organizing committee, Mr. Odeyemi Muhydeen Oladele, “Hammola”.

The 24th is the actual coronation day and expected at the event are a host of distinguished dignitaries including, the Osun State Governor Senator Ademola Adeleke, the Ooni of Ife Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, Hon. Bamidele Salam (Ede Federal Constituency), Retired Colonel Theophilus O. Bamigboye, Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly Adewale Egbedun, and several other prominent figures from both national and state levels.
