ASE Ridyem FC emerged victorious in their second Nationwide League One (NLO) match against HMK FC at the Osogbo Township Stadium, the Osun Center of the ongoing New Year Mega Lottery Nationwide League One (NLO) on Monday.
This particular match meant a lot for ASE Ridyem FC’s Coach, Adekunle Azeez Azular, along with Goalkeeper Rasheed Okotore, who were both previously with HMK FC as their former club.
The match showed early promises, with HMK attempting the first shot within a minute, but Rasheed Okotore of ASE Ridyem FC remained untroubled. ASE Ridyem’s Taiwo Afolabi also took an ambitious shot from outside the box at the 2-minute mark, narrowly missing the target. Despite initial midfield challenges, ASE Ridyem FC’s strategic substitution of Akorede and Toheeb for Ope and Samad in the 15th minute sparked a significant improvement in their performance.

The turning point arrived in the 49th minute, with Taiwo Afolabi beautifully capitalizing on a pass from Olalekan to secure the lead for ASE Ridyem FC. Throughout the game, ASE Ridyem FC’s defense remained resolute, thwarting HMK FC’s attempts to equalize.
With this triumph, ASE Ridyem FC climbed to 3rd place on the Osogbo Center NLO table after accumulating 4 points from 2 games.
They now look forward to their next encounter against Ijesha Golden Warriors FC on Wednesday, April 24th, 2024.
