Ejigbo City FC Gets New 18 Sitter Bus, Appoints Coach Okikiola Ibrahim Ahead of 2024/2025 NLO Season

In preparation for the 2024/2025 Nigeria Nationwide League One (NLO) season, newly formed Ejigbo City Football Club has appointed grassroots coaching expert Okikiola Ibrahim as their new head coach. The club, based in Ejigbo City, Osun State, is counting on Coach Ibrahim’s vast experience to secure a spot in the Nigeria National League next season.

During the unveiling ceremony, team coordinator Mr. Seun Oluyole emphasized that the club was founded to benefit the youth of Ejigbo and the wider community. He called for support from local football stakeholders, noting, “It’s not for the benefit of a group of individuals or one man, but for the entire community.”

Representing club president Mr. Sangare Ibrahim, Hon. Sodiq Arowojede expressed gratitude to everyone present, including Osun FA Secretary Mr. Amoo Abayomi and other key stakeholders. He reiterated the president’s commitment to advancing the club and stressed the importance of collaboration with the FA and grassroots coaches.

Coach Okikiola Ibrahim, in his remarks, expressed his appreciation for the opportunity, describing Ejigbo as his home and pledging to work closely with local coaches to build a successful team.

The event concluded with the presentation of a newly acquired 18-seater bus to the team by Hon. Arowojede, symbolizing the club’s commitment to growth and progress.

Key figures at the ceremony included Osun FA Secretary Mr. Amoo Abayomi, Ejigbo City Football Council Secretary Alhaji Hamidu Femi Folaranmi, Comrade TF Salam (Ejigbo LGA FA Chairman), and Hon. Sodiq Arowojede, one of the club’s financiers. Grassroots coaches and local players were also in attendance.
