Manchester City’s Champions League hopes took a significant hit after a 2-0 defeat to Juventus. The Italian giants dominated the match, capitalizing on City’s defensive lapses and clinical finishing.

Ilkay Gundogan, the City captain, expressed his frustration and concern over the team’s recent struggles. “It’s a mental issue,” he admitted. “We’re making careless mistakes, overcomplicating things, and losing possession too easily.”

Gundogan further elaborated, “We’re giving them counter-attacking opportunities and having to chase the ball for long distances. That’s not our style of play. We’re a possession-based team, but we’re losing our rhythm and confidence.”

Despite the disappointing result, Gundogan remains optimistic about the team’s potential. “We’re not far off,” he insisted. “We know exactly what’s going wrong, but we need to find a way to turn things around.”

As City faces increasing pressure to deliver in both domestic and European competitions, they will need to address the mental hurdles that have hindered their performance.
