Osun United FC Supporters Club chairman, Mr. Agboola Mutiu Ademola, popularly known as “Akobi,” has commended the management, technical crew, backroom staff, and players of Osun United for their impressive start to the 2024/2025 Nigeria National League (NNL) season.
The Coach Oluseye Ajayi led Omoluabi Giants have remained unbeaten in their opening two fixtures. They began the campaign with a goalless draw against First Bank FC in Lagos and followed up with a commanding 3-0 victory over Gateway United FC in a fiercely contested south-west derby.
The match, held at the Lanreleke Sports Complex in Ile-Ogbo, Osun State, showcased Osun United’s dominance, with Ganiyu Gberefun netting a brace and substitute Samuel Adeniyi putting the icing on the cake to seal the victory. The performance drew widespread praise from fans, with Mr. Agboola commending the efforts of the club’s chairman, Mr. Gbenga Ololade Oriowo, and the entire team setup.
Speaking to Futball Naija, Mr. Agboola described the victory as a testament to the team’s preparation and organizational strength. “Indeed, this is a sweet victory. On behalf of the supporters club, I want to commend Chairman Gbenga Ololade Oriowo for doing a great job with the organizational setup of the team. I also want to appreciate the coaching crew led by Oluseye Ajayi, the backroom staff, and the players. We are proud of this team and pray they sustain this early success,” he said.
Mr. Agboola expressed confidence in the squad’s ability to achieve promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL). “The present squad is a sweet mix of experienced and immensely talented young stars who are committed to taking the club to the next level. I am confident they have the technical ability to conquer the NNL,” he added.
He also reiterated the unwavering support of the supporters club, promising to maintain their vibrant tradition of singing, drumming, and dancing to motivate the team. “We will always be with the team. Our members are fully prepared to ensure the team lacks no support, both at home and away. We hope our energy will continue to inspire the boys to perform even better,” he concluded.
Osun United will next face Kun Khalifa FC, a new entrant in the NNL, at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri, in their Matchday 3 fixture. Fans are optimistic that the Omoluabi Giants can build on their strong start and continue their push for promotion.
