Crown FC’s technical adviser, Ayodeji Ayeni, has showered praise on the club’s players and supporters following their dramatic 1-0 victory over Edel FC on Matchday 9 of the 2024/2025 Nigeria National League (NNL) season. The hard-fought win at the Soun Stadium, Ogbomoso, propelled the Ajilete Warriors to the top of the NNL Conference A table with 17 points.

In a tense encounter, Crown FC struggled to break down a resilient Edel FC side until the dying moments of the game. The breakthrough finally came when Moses Ngbede rose highest to head home from the last corner kick of the match, securing all three points for the home team.

Reacting to the win, Ayeni credited both the players and the fans for their unwavering support. “I want to sincerely thank the entire team for their resilience, determination, and doggedness,” he said. “More so, I need to appreciate the great supporters, fans, and all football stakeholders present for their love and patience. We didn’t get the breakthrough we wanted until the final minutes of the game, and the crowd remained patient and stood with the team till the end. To me, they are the real MVP because they did not give up until the last minutes of the game. On behalf of the entire team and technical crew, we are very grateful to them.”

The Ajilete Warriors now sit atop the league table with 17 points from eight matches, solidifying their status as strong contenders for promotion.
Up next, Crown FC will travel to Lagos for a Matchweek 10 clash against 1472 FC at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena on Saturday, February 15, 2025. Kickoff is set for 1:00 PM as the team looks to extend their lead at the top of the table.
