Victor Osimhen Praises Morata After Galatasaray’s 2-1 Comeback Win Over Alanyaspor

Victor Osimhen scored the winning goal as Galatasaray extended their impressive unbeaten run with a 2-1 victory over Corendon Alanyaspor in a Trendyol Süper Lig Matchday 27 clash at the Gain Park Stadium on Sunday.

The hosts took the lead in the first half through Tonny Vilhena, but Galatasaray responded strongly after halftime. A stroke of luck saw Barış Alper’s shot bounce off goalkeeper Ertuğrul Taşkıran and deflect off Aliti into the net, leveling the score at 1-1 in the 51st minute.

The turning point came when Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen powered home a header from a well-placed cross from the left wing, securing all three points for Galatasaray. Osimhen nearly doubled his tally in the 68th minute after being set up by Przemyslaw Frankowski, but his effort was denied by Ertuğrul.

After the match, Osimhen expressed his gratitude to the team and fans, acknowledging their role in the comeback. “First of all, I would like to congratulate the team and thank our fans. I think we would not have had the energy to get these three points without them. We were not very good in the first half, but we were able to improve ourselves in the second half,” he said.

The Nigerian striker also highlighted the strong motivation in the dressing room, crediting captain Davinson Sánchez and goalkeeper Günay Güvenç for their leadership. “Everyone talked in the dressing room. I think we are very good at this. Our captain, Sanchez, Günay, and all of us talk. We motivate each other. I think this is one of the things that gave us the energy we needed in the second half,” Osimhen added.

Speaking about his strike partner, Alvaro Morata, Osimhen was full of praise. “It was incredible to play with him. He is a very experienced player. He is a team player who comes close to receive the ball in the attack, helps the team, and is an advanced player. I am very happy to play with him. We hope for a season where both of us score more goals and our momentum increases.”

With his goal, Osimhen moved to second place in the Turkish Süper Lig golden boot race, further solidifying his impact at Galatasaray. As the season progresses, the Nigerian star remains focused on helping his team maintain their momentum and push for the league title.
