The much-anticipated Alayemore Coronation Artisans Football Competition is set to kick off on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Ido-Osun High School football field, with a ceremonial kickoff by the newly installed 47th Olojudo of Ido-Osun, Oba Oyetunde Ishola, Ilufemiloye 1, Jokotola 11.

The opening ceremony, scheduled for 3:00 p.m., will be followed immediately by the tournament’s first match between the Bricklayer Association and the Carpenter Association, marking the start of what promises to be a vibrant showcase of local talent and community spirit.
This announcement was made during a press briefing held after the official draw on May 1, where the participating artisan groups were placed into two groups:
Group A:
Bricklayer Association
Carpenter Association
Barber Association
Tailor Association
Group B:
Tiler Association
Welder Association
Plank Sellers Association
Chairman of the organizing committee, Mr. Odeyemi Muhydeen Oladele, stated that the football competition is one of several pre-coronation activities designed to celebrate the ascension of Oba Oyetunde Ishola, Ilufemiloye 1, Jokotola 11. The coronation ceremony will run from Thursday, May 22 to Sunday, May 25, 2025.
“The aim of this competition is to foster a good relationship and healthy coexistence among people in our community. We believe that football has the power to unite and bring people together, and we would like to include the artisans in this celebration,” said Mr. Odeyemi.
Match Day 2, scheduled for Sunday, May 4, will feature two exciting fixtures: Tiler Association vs Welder Association at 1:00 p.m., followed by Barber Association vs Tailor Association at 3:00 p.m.
The tournament will culminate on Thursday, May 22, with the final match and trophy presentation taking place at Ido-Osun High School, just hours before the official commencement of the coronation festivities.
A host of dignitaries are expected to grace the grand occasion, that is, the main coronation day which is on the 24th of May, 2025. Among them are; Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, Hon. Bamidele Salam MHOR (Ede Federal Constituency), Retired Colonel Theophilus O. Bamigboye, Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Adewale Egbedun, and other key figures from the National and State Assemblies, traditional institutions, and political circles.
The Alayemore Coronation Artisans Football Competition is not only a celebration of the town’s rich cultural heritage but also a symbol of unity, community pride, and the enduring spirit of Ido-Osun.
